I have a 1070 with an i7 6700 non k and I'm not sure what motherboard it is, is 400w a good psu wattage? Or should I be safe and replace it with a 450w psu?

Okay, I just ordered myself another psu because my 600w evga crapped out on me after just three months. I was looking into it and it appears that evga bronze are poor quality. I was thinking about it and I looked into my sisters prebuilt pc and saw that it was an offbrand and only put out 400w. I didn't want to make a mistake and buy another psu at 400w and it not be enough somehow since off brand psu's are a little sketchy, and I dont think they're individually tested for their wattage. Just being safe lol.

if you tell 200w, someone will come and tell it is not accurate, someone else will tell that it is 75 watts and 150 from the 8 pin, that is 225, others will tell you that reviewers with a oscilloscope measured 200 with spikes to 240

to be sure, up to 250 overclocked

ideally less than 200 watts

you can't please everyone, but you can be ready for most situations by just buying a moderated size psu with enough watts for now and for the future
