I can't decide on what I should buy right now. I have options of GTX 970s for $150, a 1060 6gb mini for $200, or a 1070 for $320. They are all used but in good working conditions. My current cpu is a FX 8350 and gpu is an old radeon 7850. I'm mostly trying to play PUBG in 1080p now without as much stuttering and I plan on doing a new build in a year. What do you think my best options are?

When faced with a price vs. performance choice, I try to buy the better performance.
In your case, the GTX1070 seems like a good deal.
You may savor the sweetness of a $100-$150 savings from a lesser card for a short time.
But, you will forever wonder if you should have bought the better card up front.

Regardless, you are likely to be cpu limited in some form with the FX-8350 using a high end graphics card.

Dear redemptionse,
i went from a HD7970 to GTX970 G1 Gaming to GTX1070 G1 Gaming. Although GTX970 G1 was a great card, don't make the same mistake i did; go STRAIGHT for the GTX1070! I lost 150 Euros trading in the GTX970. The 1070 is at least 100% more powerful and the extra 4.5gb of GDDR5 memory over the otherwise-fantastic-memory-crippled GTX970 (which has the known issue of only 3.5gb of memory available) make my Photoshop and other rendering software FLY!!! I don't play games but my brother in law who is a die-hard gamer went from HD7950 to GTX1060 and told me that he was blown away by the results. After buying the GTX1060 he tried my GTX1070 and wanted to kill himself he didn't spend the extra Euros to buy it; just imagine the difference between GTX1060 and GTX1070 and "pull the trigger"...Buy the 1070, you'll remember my words, you'll be blown away for sure!

Best Regards
Yiannis.
