First things first I am a newbie when it comes to cpu`s, although i bougth myself a new gaming pc with an i7-7700k 4.5ghz inside.

As mentioned above i am a big noob when it comes to cpus but i am interrested in oc and so i started up cinebench and tested it with normal 4.5 ghz and then my pc crashed. I don´t know why that happened, i should also mention that i use the Noctua NH-U9S for cooling and the temp came up to 80°c. Now i ask myself if its more temp related or if i just got a bad cpu

If you are manually overclocking, try boosting the vcore a bit, as your cpu is probably trying to get more power than it has available to run properly.
Temps of 80 are acceptable at full load, but more vcore might raise those temps some also, so just watch and stop any tests if it goes higher.

Edit: 4.2 is "normal" for the 7700k. 4.5 is considered an OC and would need adjusted voltages to run stable

You missunderstood me, i have done non overclocking so far. This is just the normal 4.5ghz boost clock

Edit: i have done nothing in the bios or what so ever it arrived with this clock speed, and what´s the correct vcore in your opinion?

Try resetting all bios settings to default.

Some one may have forgot to change the settings back when it was tested at the factory.

Some Asus motherboards do try to overclock the cpu based on sensor readings.

Disable this feature if you are having issues.

I got the Asrock z270 motherboard so it´s pretty much all set to auto, i have already tried to put it down manualy to 4.2 and this time it didn´t crash but my screen went black for a moment
