Okay here's my situation.
1. Im planning to build a PC soon with a HDD and install windows on it but I can't afford a ssd now so I'm going to buy it later and want to know if I could change the HDD with windows into the new ssd later

Solution
Yes, but with a few important caveats.

1) If you're using windows 7 as your OS, and you want to go from an HDD to an NVMe SSD, then no. Don't count on this working. If you're using windows 10 however, you'll be ok going to an NVMe SSD later. If you'll be going from SATA HDD to SATA SSD then you're in the clear all day. with both OSs.

2) Like CountMike said, size is the other factor. While you can clone from say a 1TB HDD down to a 512GB SSD, it will of course only work if you have less than 512GB of data on the HDD before clone.

That's really it.
