Need help deciding and understanding a new CPU upgrade compatible with my motherboard.

Hello friends.

So I currently have an Intel Core i3-2100 along with an Intel DQ67SW motherboard, both LGA 1155 (Sandy Bridge) components. I'm looking to make a very budget friendly upgrade to a hyper-threaded quad-core CPU that's compatible with my mobo. The CPU's in question are the Xeon e3's simply because they're cheaper than the i7's, especially the e3-1245. However I'm finding conflicting compatibility online with my mobo.

Intels website only lists the 1260L and a variation of the 1220. Not interested in either. Another site lists the 1225 and yet another lists the 1230...PCPartPicker doesn't even have my mobo on their site.

Is there any way of telling what is absolutely compatible and what isn't? Is it possible to tell just by looking at specs alone? I don't see why only certain Xeon's would be compatible with this socket. Again, I'm pretty set on the e3-1245 since it's comparable to an i7-2600 but significantly cheaper.

Any help is appreciated.

I understand that. However I've seen a build that had used my same motherboard with a CPU that IS NOT listed on Intel's site, the Xeon e3-1230. That's why I'm looking for a complete compatibility list or user experience to say for sure.
