Hey folks,

Having a weird problem with some system modifications. I'm using 2x AMD Radeon 7850s in Crossfire and trying to build a 6-headed monitor setup. I have Windows 10 detecting all 6 screens, but 2 screens get no output after windows boots. They will display the BIOS screen as well as the windows loading screen, but after that they are gone.

The system is linked to the monitors via 50 foot DVI cables. The cables all work and were used previously in other applications on this same PC(albeit with a different graphics card). Of the six screens, 3 are using DVI. One screen, which goes through an 8 port KVM works without issue. The VGA screens are also not having any problems.

Of the two problem monitors; one cable goes directly from the display port adapter on the card to a 4 port active DVI switch and then into the monitor. The other cable goes directly from the display port adapter to a 4 port active DVI KVM.

I have tried adding in DVI Range extenders on either(and even both) side(s) of the cable with no effect - it just makes windows stop detecting the screen. I've also tried using an active(powered by USB) Display Port to DVI adapter as well as the inactive one provided with the card(the documentation claimed ports 1-3 did not require active adapters).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Solution
The problem turned out to be that the graphics card was only capable of producing 2 DVI signals. Once I changed the third monitor to something else, the other two began to work fine over the 50 foot cables.

A)The cables are that long because thats the distance between PC and monitor
B)You are clearly wrong about max cable length since I have 4 other working monitors and both of these cables worked under a different configuration.

"The maximum length that an DVI-D signal can travel over a single cable is 5 meters. If you wish to push the signal further than 5m, then you will need to employ the use of a DVI Extender. "

"Although the mandated DVI spec is 5 meters, we do carry cables up to 25 feet...
... For guaranteed signal quality on long runs, you should consider using a powered DVI signal booster.

I am typing these words on a screen connected to a 50 foot cable.

One of 5 PCs connected over 50 foot cables.

I am trying to figure out why 6 and 7 aren't working.

Especially when the same 50 foot cables worked in a different application, and are working in 5 other applications.
