It depends.
The best way to find out, is to check the motherboard manufacturers support site, list of supported CPU and from which Bios ver.
Usually called CPU Support.
If You give as an example of which motherboard and processor model, we can perhaps help you to find out.

Ok. That is an Asus originally factory tower model, right?
No, in that case you cannot replace the cpu, nor any newer Bios version that support this is available.
At least not that I can find.

I've found many G11CD versions but with different specs and you're the first to tell me that it isn't compatible. But I'm limited to these specs:

Am I right that this is a factory PC, a factory brand sort of speak?
If so, the BIOS ver. and cpu support list doesn't come from the motherboard, but rather from the name or the brand of the PC.
Either way, I cannot find that on Asus site at all.
Can You be more specific and also- is it an Asus computer because You did n' tell?
