Is it worth it in the long run for 220 more dollars?

Hello everyone, my name is Maddox, I am 14 years old. I said I am 14 years old so everybody knows I get 100$ every month or 2. I have had the same gaming PC for the last 3 years, and it is falling behind, as it is falling behind like it should. That means technology is advancing. I was thinking about building a new computer all together instead of upgrade mine due to the fact that I have an AMD CPU. And, I am not here to spark a debate, but when I built this computer it was in my best intention to save 150$ and go with the AMD CPU.

Now I realize the Intel is a bit better. My original plan was to buy an Intel i5 6600k, new DDR4 RAM, MoBo, etc. But now I am wondering if what if I just keep my CPU and upgrade everything else to save around 220$. I currently have an AMD fx 8370 CPU with a Wraith Cooler on it. It runs at 4Ghz which I could overclock if I really wanted to, so the CPU itself is not bad at all. It's just a generation behind in the AMD line which I'm fine with. Is an i5 6600k really worth it just to have some better temps and a little better performance?

I understand that, I am still going to get a new MoBo for new DDR4 RAM, 6GB Drive Transfer Rates, USB 3.0 I/O ports.
