Current PC: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/33FHM8 (with default Intel Fan/cooler)
I want to upgrade my CPU because I feel it is the weakest part of my whole system (a part from the single 8GB RAM stick)
Right now I have the Intel Core i5 6500 on the Gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H MATX motherboard.
I want to upgrade my CPU to the intel Core i7 7700K (along with the Cryorig m9i cooler).
However: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/pscNhq now I get an error because I need to update my BIOS to allow for the introduction of the new kabylake i7.
This is what I am worried about, I have no idea how to go about updating BIOS for a new processor. As what happens if I go and buy a £300+ processor and then find out it still doesn't work even if I try to update BIOS?
Does anyone know if updating the BIOS will work 100% or if it is just PC part picker Mod Edit Can someone show me exactly how to update BIOS using a H170 GB motherboard for a new kabylake CPU?
Sorry for being extremely specific with the final request but I know from past experience that different names will completely change how things are done.
Thanks
