The other day, I bought a 480GB SSD exclusively for running Linux on my computer while my main hard drive would be for Windows. I tinkered with different distros until Windows started acting odd last night. I couldn't access flash drive anymore and clicking the shut down button within Windows wouldn't register. I had to hard boot the computer by holding down the power button. I woke up and I can't even get past the motherboard logo screen. I press F12 or Del and nothing works. The boot LED also stays solid red. The boot speaker does beep though. Booting from a CD, the hard drive, or the SSD isn't feasible since, as stated before, the computer stays locked on the mobo logo screen. I even tried to work around it by pressing the BIOS button on my mobo (which requires me to press it once to shut down then press it to turn the computer on) and it still stays locked on the mobo logo screen. All 6 SATA ports are set to AHCI mode as well. Also, the motherboard has only been used for 2 years according to the receipt. I reset the CMOS RAM using the instructions and the jumper on the mobo, and it still won't boot. I read that a faulty or depleted CMOS battery could prevent a computer from booting up.
