Hi,

I recently upgraded my PC to one with decent specs to run recent titles in high-ultra on 1080p.
and my old hardware leftover, (a Joshua-H61-uATX motherboard with socket LGA 1155 and a Leadtek 1GB GTX 650) I'm planning to give it to my girlfriend and help her make a build, so far this is what i came up with.

i3 2100/i3 3220 (still deciding which to get)
4GB of any stick of ram (1333MHz or 1600MHz)
200-500GB of storage

these specs might not be the best for a budget build, but i am looking through one of those sites like ebay in my country and i hav a budget of around Rp. 1,000,000 or about 75 USD.
The 2100 is $34, and the 3220 is $45.
the stick of RAM is likely about $22
and the storage is around $22 aswell.

If i may, i want to ask the people of the forums if this build is all compatible, and which processor should i get for it to be better (3220 or 2100). My girlfriend is going to use it for GTA V and Overwatch mainly. is this an okay build and a compatible build? any answers or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Solution
i got an used i5 2400 for like Rp. 850k, why bother spending Rp. 1 million on an i3?
GTA benefits more from real cores rather than virtual thread
Overwatch is fine with the i3

GPU is going to be a bit problem though, seems old, not sure if u can crank the settings to high, especially with that small amount of VRAM (all normal no effects settings cost bout 700-800mb i think, so yeah, tight af) but it will run just fine on normal i think (GT 630 can get about 30-60 fps on lowest setting, yours should do much better)

Hmm the thing is, my total budget is 1.000.000 since my girlfriend doesnt really mind playing in low or normal and shes not really a hardcore gamer by any chance, if i did pickup the i5 2400 for 850k i wouldnt have any budget left for the RAM and HDD

only Rp. 1 million dude? wow definitely not possible there, i did EXTENSIVE research on the LGA 1155 compatible CPU coz of my delayed payday, the price keeps increasing, so i kept monitoring around the i3 and i5 (i7 cost way too much for me)
most i3 starts from about 500k
most i5 starts from 800k now (before the delay it starts from 700k)

now, consider u had a got the 500k i3
RAM cost about 300-400 on DDR3, that's already 800k (again, considering the cheapest)
and then u're expecting to get a HDD on 200k, i wonder how.....
u better save up a little more (1.5 / 2 million) and then buy em

and to answer your question, 3220 of course is the better choice: less wattage, newer gen, supports higher speed RAM, and more better features
it's an okay build but don't expect too high on it
it's also compatible, since LGA 1155 supports 2nd/3rd gen Intel

Hmm... thinking about it now i do need some headroom with it, and i dont think investing more money would be a bad idea for it, the 2100 is 450k and the 3220 is 600k (as of now),but at benchmarking they dont have a marginal difference, and i can get maybe a 300-500gb hdd for 200-300k locally and 280k for ram locally aswell, but i'll definitely take that into consideration. Thanks man!

sure thing mate
if u had nothing more to ask, choose 1 of the answer as the solution so this thread can be deemed as solved

btw, if u need a gaming friend, u can add my steam on the low right corner :)

UPDATE: I got a deal for a total of 880k for an i3 2120 @ 2.6GHz, 4GB of RAM and 320GB of HDD, is that a steal or is it considered an okay rig to run GTA V maybe on low/medium? and sure man, ill pick one as a solution no worries :)

Not considering the brand, yeah it's a steal
Probably used stuff there, becareful and watch out for broken parts
