There's no real point to Memory fans. Memory doesn't sweat, or get overly hot typically blowing air on them directly is unnecessary unless your airflow in your case stinks or you're going for some record air oc runs
So, I'm quoting directly from the user guide provided by ASUS for its Maximus IX Formula motherboard (page 1-6):
"For system stability, use a more efficient memory cooling system to support a full memory load (4 DIMMs) or overclocking condition."
So, I would ask again, "Is it necessary to match branded memory fans to branded memory?"
