Hi,

My laptop (acer aspire) can't see the WiFi network I want to connect to. It can see plenty of other networks and other devices including my partners laptop have no problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter to no avail. Also tried manually creating a profile on 'manage wireless networks' with no result. Can't get the routers page up on a browser using 192.168.0.1 or whatever the number was either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Joe

Well now I know that the WiFi I am trying to connect to is 5GHz and my wireless network adapter only supports 2.4GHz. To check if yours will support it, check the name of your adapter in device manager (mine for eg is Qualcomm Atheros AR5B97) and Google it to see if it supports 5GHz. If not, apparently you can buy a USB dongle that will allow you to. Maybe this will help some people.
