Looking for some advice on a rebuild. Old specs are: Biostar TA790GXE, AMD Phenom II HDZ940, AMD 7870 (2GB), 2 sticks of Crucial 4GB 5300. I lost my mobo to a surge. Ideas for replacing all of the above with similar performance? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I should mention I am looking to continue to play Witcher 3, the Fallout games (3, NV, 4, all modded heavily), Skyrim (also heavily modded).

In the U.S. and budget is not so much an issue, as I don’t like replacing parts every couple of years. I prefer to future proof as much as possible, but at the same time, I’m not looking to spend a grand or anything. Thanks again! Also, it doesn’t have to be AMD based.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113435 $216 6 core/12 threads
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157761 $92 before $10 rebate motherboard
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820156111 $61 8GB 2400 DDR4
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438014 $52 600W PSU before $10 rebate

The above should be the best bang for the buck. AMD has their cards on the table (minus the low end R3 and APU lines) Intel is kind of in limbo, New 6 core mainstream and motherboards coming out, no word if backwards compatible to current 1151 boards yet. After 370Z boards 390Z and a new CPU architecture is coming.

Thanks for the info! Thankfully I won’t need a PSU, as apparently it went untouched (and is a nice modular 800W). So now all I need is a good graphics card and I’ll be on my way.
