Can be greatly improved.
Ditch the SSD, grab 16GB of RAM and a 1080 instead.
I feel 1080p 144hz is more suitable, as even my 1080 struggles to get 60fps at 1440p in some titles at high.

You don't need the thermal paste, your cooler comes with some already.
Don't get a single stick of ram, get a dual stick SET (not two individual pieces)
Get the non-elite case and get a better PSU.
You can also just use the stock CPU cooler (it comes with the CPU) to save a few bucks as well if you're not going to overclock. (which you probably won't being a newbie)
