Many laptops are limited in what size RAM modules they will support, and, what types will function. Start by looking up your laptop at it's manufacturer's website, and see what is max amount of supported RAM, vs. what you already have installed. (Additionally, many DDR2 systems might be 32 bit WIndows, which only supports 3.5 GB anyway)
