Hi all,

I've recently upgraded my RAM in the HP Z800 system.
After booting, the new RAM passes POSTing, however crashes on the windows 10 black circle loading screen [https://gyazo.com/e3ae04f7220599245dda3bb815ba9254]

The new RAM is Samsung PC3L-8500R (16gb x 6) Modules.
Looking at the Memory configuration and optimisation page (http://h20331.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/downloads/Mini_WP_Z800_memory.pdf)

This RAM is shown as being compatible...

The current 22gb setup I use works fine (4gb Modules = PC3-10600U 2gb Module = PC3-10600E)

Troubleshooting carried out:

- The new RAM works fine loading Ubuntu (Linux), showing the full 96gb.
- Installing a clean install of windows, causes crashing at the same point.
- Removing any potentially interfering components (other HDD's, USB hubs, etc) doesn't fix the problem.
- Windows has had full driver update, as well as the BIOS being flashed to latest version (ver3.60)
- Memtest86 shows all modules as 'passed' (without any errors)

I believe this has narrowed the problem down to Windows 10 finding its own problem with the new RAM.
I'm not getting to a BSOD (meaning i'm not able to see an exact error)
Event log shows no critical problem.

I'm completely stumped...
If you need any further details just ask.
Thanks for reading,
Robert.

Solution
In my opinion the love voltage memory might be the issue (PC3L). My recommendation would be DDR3 R all the way (is cheaper as well) and not mixed like you have (U and E)
