RX 580 with freeSync monitor or just GTX 1070?

I am thinking of upgrading my R9 380 to either one of those GPUs.

The problem is that I don't know if freeSync is worth it. Should I spend more money to a better GPU and stick without a freeSync monitor? But if RX 580 can run AAA games at 60fps+ on at least high settings I will get it and the freeSync monitor. I will wait for VEGA GPUs though.

What do you think? Which one should I get if VEGA isn't good?

i have the same monitor as you, it can be overclocked to 72hz. http://wecravegamestoo.com/forums/monitor-reviews-discussion/15119-samsung-s24d590pl-review-matte-1080p-ad-pls-72hz-overclock-2.html

Also i would prolly get a GTX 1070 now as you can always get a Gsync monitor down the line. I have an RX 480 and its a fine GPU, but if i were in your situation i would def get a GTX 1070 now and get a gysnc montior down the line. I've had my monitor o/c ed for several years now and only cpu dependant games like WoW will not allow a smooth 72fps all the time
