Ive been getting uncomfortable temps recently and cpu has hit 85 underload and the previois owner told me that it needs new thermal paste. Bought some and i removed the h100i v2 heatsink what ever and it had too much thermal paste. It didnt fall into socket but cpu was nearly drenched essentially. Ive cleaned it for a long time now using cotton swabs and 91% isopropyl alcohol and there's a tad a very tad bit of thermal paste left. Imagine a cpu facing down (contact part facing down) and you look at where the heatsink hits. On the outter edges there's very slight thermal paste left on the green circuitry. It's like in the corners where the gray meets the green and it's almost impossible to clean. I used pieces of new thermal paste enclosure(cardboard) to scratch what i can off. Is it okay? What to do?
