Can't remove CPU fan connector

It has a little retaining clip you can see it in the photo. Pair of needle nose pliers with one of the sides pushed down lightly into the retaining clip or take a small flat screwdriver and bend the clip out just a hair while bent out pull on the fan connector.

Still can't pull out the connector. Do I put the flat screwdriver between the retaining clip and connector?

Never mind, had to use a slightly bigger flat head.
