I currently have Century Link 40mbps download and 5mbps upload internet service. The modem I have is an ActionTec Q1000.
Lately I've noticed a drastic decrease in our internet speeds wired and wireless. I've run speeds tests using ctlhelp.com and using speedtest.net and my wired connection is returning about 22.52 mbps down and 2.32 upload. It ranges between 22 and 28 when running the speed test. On wireless it is drastically lower at times.
I have a phone cable running from the phone jack to the green 'line' port on that back of my modem. There are no land line phones on the premises.
Any tips on things I can check on my modem, etc... that might help troubleshoot this? A tech is coming out I think.
