Hi all. I have a Ryzen 5 1600 and an MSI B350m mortar arctic, however at the current prices I am unwilling to buy the 16gb of ram that I want. Fortunately I found an ad on gumtree for 1x16gb stick of ECC memory, for less than half the price it would normally cost (AUD$99 vs AUD$205). Will this run? The motherboard manual says it supports ECC running in non-ecc mode, so it should work, as far as I can tell. It's there anything I'm missing here? For reference here are the specs for my system:

PSU: VX450 (Corsair, to be upgraded to EVGA 750 G2)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: MSI B350m mortar arctic
GPU: GTX 960 (to be upgraded to 1070)
Case: cooler master case of some kind :)

Thank you for your time!

Solution
Ryzen has been picky about RAM. Using ECC RAM in a non-ECC mode is way out-of-the-box. I doubt there is any hands on experience trying that.

OK thanks. I'll probably go over to the location and try it out before I buy. If I do that I'll post my results here. Thanks again!
