i got my 7700k to 5ghz on 1.35v but when i run Prime95 on the first setting which is SMALL FFT the cpu cores temp goes up to 95c just wonderingn if i should let the test run that way till it crashes or my cpu will fry? its that normal since its stressing too much or should I stop it ?

Although your Noctua NH-D15 is an excellent cooler and you're running in air conditioning, as I explained in my previous post, you should not use any versions of Prime95 later than 26.6.

Please download Prime95 v26.6 - http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=15504

Run Small FFT's for 10 minutes. Your Core temperatures will decrease by as much as 20°C.

Just give it a try and you'll see for yourself.

Please list your CPU cooler, Ambient temperature and Prime95 version.

Although your Vcore is under the maximum recommended limit of 1.4v, 95°C is too hot. Your i7 7700K "Throttles" at 100°C, which is the Core temperature limit when the processor will reduce Core speed to protect against thermal damage.

Here's the operating range for Core temperature:

Core temperatures above 85°C aren't recommended.

Core temperatures increase and decrease with Ambient temperature.

Although Small FFT's is correct for testing Core temperature, do not use Prime95 versions later than 26.6 on 2nd through 7th Generation i3, i5 or i7 CPU's, which all have AVX (Advanced Vector Extension) Instruction Sets. Prime95 versions later than 26.6 run AVX code on the CPU's Floating Point Unit (FPU) which causes unrealistic temperatures up to 20°C higher. The FPU test in the utility AIDA64 shows similar results.

AVX can be disabled in Prime95 versions later than 26.6 by inserting "CpuSupportsAVX=0" into the "local.txt" file in Prime95's folder. However, since Core temperatures will be the same as 26.6, it's easier to just use 26.6. Recent motherboards address the AVX problem by providing offset adjustments in BIOS.

Run Small FFT's for 10 minutes.

Ooh yeah i forgot, im using Noctua NH-D15, room temp i dont know really but o run the air conditioner so it has to be cool and in running the latest version of prime95 i didnt know about that thing you mentioned so even though it is being stressed all the way it should reach 95c cause what i know a safe temp when normal stress should be no more than 75c for this processor
