Hi, I was running counter strike source in the background while watching youtube suddenly I heard a loud bang. I'm not sure if it's the PSU or my avr, then my computer restarts. Did my PSU exploded or my AVR? This happened yesterday, I have not use my computer after that, I turned it off quickly when it restarts. If it's my PSU will it explode again when I use it?

My PC specs
i3 CPU
GTX 650
Corsair PSU
8gb ram
H81m-ds2 Gigabyte motherboard
2tb harddrive

I bought corsair almost a year ago now, I thought this is a good brand.

Thank you.

Unplug, open case, look inside. If PSU really exploded it's casing should be ripped apart, but since it has worked afterwards, I doubt that. Look for burns or broken parts.

Corsair as others make both good and worse models. The fact you bought the PSU a year ago means nothing, it can have been sitting on a shelf for 10 years for all we know.

For best help, be detailed with specs. (What i3?, what GTX 650?, what RAM? etc.)

I did not found any burns on PSU or on any pc components, no damage also. Is it safe to turn it on, just to check ?
It's i3 4170, nvidiagtx 650, 2 4gb kingstons. Sorry, I don't really remember all the details,.

Corsair have their model code printed on both sides of the PSU, large. You should have been able to read it when you opened the case.

I would turn it on, while being prepared to immediately pull the power plug if anything doesn't sound, look or smell right.

NOTE: the power button on a PC does nothing except send a signal to the MB. It does not turn off power to your PC.

When Nigel above said "prepared to immediately pull the power plug" he literally meant pull the plug from the wall. Don't touch a metal case. Don't bother with the PC power switch.

Me, I'd use a good power strip to connect the PC to the wall power so you can just pull the switch on the power strip.

Good Luck. I can't think of what would have caused a loud bang inside your PC and not have causes physical damage with a nasty smell.
