Hi everyone
I bought a new gaming pc in september last year. When i play gta 5 the game starts to lag, stutter and get fps drops after about 20 minutes of playing and my pc startup is pretty slow.

Changing graphic options to low doesnt help, my gpu drivers are up to date, ive deactivated autostart for alot of programs, and ive scanned my pc for viruses. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

here are my specs:
msi gtx 980ti
intel i5 6400
8gb ddr3ram
fsp hyper 600w psu
asus h110m-c d3
toshiba 1tb 7200rpm 32mb hdd
windows 10 home

my case is antec gx500 but i dont really think that matters

It could be the temperatures on the CPU or the GPU. I recently helped someone on here with a similar problem and it was his airflow that was wrong. Make sure the case isn't stuffed into a shelf or somewhere it's not easily ventilated and make sure the fans are drawing air out the top and back, and bringing in air through the front and bottom.

His graphics card was throttling because it was overheating due to the airflow of his case. He turned a couple fans and it solved the problem. With GTA being such an intensive game and you having a relatively good processor I'd say it's the GPU that's perhaps overheating.

A pump once broke on my liquid cooling and starcraft 2 started lagging real bad. I realised it was my CPU in that instance...

Hope this helps. Good Luck :)
