My cvurrent ram is not supported by my motherboard and based on what i have been reading It doesnt look like it will be anytime soon. It has been causing my computer to lag and freeze and just not function the way a 1600 dollar computer should. The ram I am currently using is G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2x4) DDR4, F4-2400C 15D-8GVR.. I have opened up many threadds before on how to fix the issue but nothing has done the trick. I have the Ryzen 5 1600 and the B350 tomahwak motherboard. I will trade for worse or any ram that is compatible with my motherboard or will take any suggestions on how to fix.

Thanks

That' shouldn't matter. QVL lists are never absolute. Either your PUBG is leaking memory, or you don't have enough free memory anyways, or you have some slightly bad memory, hence why you should try RMAing it.

People have told me to update my bios and thats the only thing i haven't done. simply because im nervous to and for some reason its saying it wont fit on my 8gig flash drive. Ill look into the BIOS a bit more and get back to you guys,

Thanks

if it doesn't fit on a fully formatted 8GB flash drive then what you downloaded is not a BIOS file

What does RMA it mean? its not that new. Ive been dealing with this issue for probably 6 months.. i guess fairly new. Ill have to do the BIOS update and see where that takes me

I have already re-installed my windows after the same issue was occuring and nothing changed. will re installing it after the bios update make a difference? im not sure my OS is crashing.. the freeze mainly happens in pubg and rainbow 6.. games like OW and cs go the issue never occurs.

one of the main reasons for BIOS updates is to improve ram compatibility

I was just playing PUBG and when the game froze I alt tabbed to check my task manager, at that time it said i was using 4,879MB of ram to run that game. obviously causing the problem, not sure if that opens up any new possibilities on why im having this issue.

Ill look into returning the ram, but i really think its that my ram isnt 100% compatible with my motherboard under the MSI webcite.

Hey James,

So just saw my PUBG game freeze, and it said i was using 90% of my memory and 4kMB.. does that mean i have some dysfunctional ram?

it's very possible you're just running out of ram. How much RAM are you using when you're not playing any games? Maybe you need to close some ram hungry programs. 4kMB = 4GBs, so that's half your ram, and if it's at 90% when it crashes it probably tried to go over that amount and then crashed.

PUBG is also an early access buggy game so... it could be the game, but if the crashes are consistent it could be somewhat "your fault".

Also not really sure how you spent $1600 USD and only have 8gbs of ram and an R5 cpu, unless you included things like the monitor, keyboard and mouse in that. Or you're Canadian and Australian and have to pay the much higher prices.

It was a rough estimation and yes I was including monitors and keyboard. When I am not playing any games the Task Manager is saying I am using 29%. The crashed only happens in PUBG and sometimes Rainbow 6 siege. But when I play cs go or OverWatch i never experience any issues.

PUBG and R6S are very likely extremely more RAM heavy than CSGO or OW. CSGO and OW both have simple contained maps without much things to keep track of. PUBG has HUGE maps with lots of little objects to track, and R6S has destructible environments to track as well.

Can you maybe take a share a screenshot of your task manager's memory usage performance on idle?
