When I first built my computer, the motherboard (MSI B250M Mortar) had no problem detecting the GPU (an Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8G), but now, it won't read the GPU unless I cut the power via the power supply, restart it, and turn the computer back on. Any ideas?

Solution
Well like the what the others sayd, could be a signal that you PSU is going bad. But if you dont agree..
Try this:

1. place the GPU in the other slot (8x) not the (16x) and do several boots. If that solved it its your mobo. If not...
2. Try the GPU in a friends computer and boot up some times. Same problem thats the GPU gone bad.
3. If it works at a friends PC, but not in yours, its 1 out of 2. Mobo or PSU. Borrow or buy a new PSU to check.

Oh and dont tell me that you have forgotten to say: Oh and by the way I have like 30 HDD`s running of a 550watts PSU... cause I have seen someone do that.....

It's a Corsair CXM 550, and I doubt the PSU going bad or not would have anything to do with the motherbboard's debug LEDs lighting up to indicate the lack of a GPU.

To rephrase my initial post, the computer boots up fine, but the motherboard seems to think there's no GPU present. To get it to realize that it is, I have to shut it off via the PSU switch, turn the PSU back on, and turn the computer back on. 9 times out of 10, doing that kicks the motherboard into line and makes it read that the GPU is present.

It looks like it may be a problem with the motherboard, but I'm willing to deal with it, since it only takes a few seconds for it to recognize the GPU. I just need to learn to be more patient.
