sound card quality on the z170a pc mate?

That has an in line one, as do all headsets.
The Tiamat however has crap sound quality.
What's your budget?
A sound card isn't necessary unless you have very good headphones and want cleaner audio signals in a case where you'll actually be able to hear it. In that case though they'd also pick up a DAC and amplifier.
With headsets this is not the case.

Well im not exactly thinking about a budget right now. Maybe 150 at most. I was only willing to get the tiamat because i had heard such great reviews about it but until that video pointed out the bad things about it, i quickly changed my mind. I'm thinking about going with the astro a40's because im a big fan of how they look and they seem like really solid headsets and im looking for ones that are truly 7.1 surround and the a40's are. i checked out the Arctis 3 and it looks like another really solid choice but there were a few things that turned me off

The Astros have terrible sound quality for the money.
If you're going into that range, get these and a Moovmic or Modmic 4/5.
Also if anything annoys you about my posting, or how i'm talking, please feel free to let me know via PM, as i've been given a warning for tone. :)
