First Time Building PC--Suggestions on Part List Needed

Hello, this is my first time building a pc! I have tried to put something together, but I really would like some opinions. I want my pc to be gaming oriented and just do regular school stuff as well. I want to go for a black theme with RGBs inside to change colors.

So far I have came up with this:

All in all not a bad build, only a couple of points

    ■The pairing of a GTX 1080 with the 1600 is a bit lopsided, worth it to upgrade to the Ryzen 5 1600X. Will require an aftermarket CPU cooler but still in my mind worth it.■You don't absolutely need an X370 mobo unless you plan on some significant overclocking, you can use a B350 board and save some money for other things■3000 MHz RAM is not a supported speed for this mobo, best to bump it up to 3200 MHz. And it was not a supported speed on the Taichi.■Changed the SSD to an m.2 interface with better quality and larger size. Not sure why you need a 2TB HDD but its a good one.■Changed the case to save some money■Good PSU but I would be more comfortable with a 650W to allow some...

Yeah I have a Taichi, you definitely don't want to go slow on the RAM if you're considering this board.

Why would you spend money on this stuff? That's $150 just for looks.
