Ok i have a R9 280X gifted to me by my cousin, unfortunately i dont have a 8pin and 6pin. Is there anyway i could get 2 extension cables, 1 for a 6pin and 1 for a 8pin? My PSU model is: AD-E500AE-A5/A6

Personally i would get rid of that PSU as it is junk. I would not trust it to run your system and the GPU you have been given.

You have not listed your full specs, so i can't tell what else you have, but have a look at the Corsair CM***X series.

The PSU is of top importance in a system, as it is the life blood, so change it ASAP, and your original problem will also be solved.

Here is a link to the PSU Tier list, There is a lot of info that is worth reading: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Bad advice, and it was given without asking a single question such as, crucially, the make/model of the existing PSU.

It's a no-brainer - - - you need a new, quality PSU which has the required cables for the graphics card.
