Hello,

So i have this problem where when i watch a youtube video at high quality, my screen blacks out for 2-3 seconds. Also when im playing games at full screen (not windowed borderless). Whenever i tab out of the game i have a 2-3 second black screen. Sometimes even by just opening google or an image viewer. I have a GTX 970, and it's really annoying me.
Help would be appreciated.

Just curious,

What's the PSU rating and what MOBO are you using.

I'm assuming this hasn't always been this way. Another approach might be driver related. A lot of my stuff got jacked after the combination of Windows 10 CU and post NV 378.92 drivers. I've been seeing in the 'known issues' for a lot of t their newer drivers a lot of things relating to the older cards too.

So my other recommendation would be to try to do a clean install of 378.92. In order to test this properly w/o Windows or NV trying to update the driver right after install you'll need to download the file, turn off wifi or disconnect your computer from the internet then install the driver.

Then do your testing with your games. ALt tab etc. If it works then go into...

Might be, and I heavily emphasize might be, a power issue. First though I would make sure to have the latest driver but then go into NV control panel and set the power to max instead of default optimal.

Amazingly enough, with the maxed out voltage settings for the GPU. I dont have the blackscreen (yet).
Thanks for that, i guess

EDIT: Doesn't work with games.
Your setup is amazing by the way. SLI 1080 :O

If you have geforce experience or any other NV programs set to auto-update make sure their turned off. Finally re-connect or turn on wifi for your internet again. Test your tube stuff again. If this works then make sure to keep that file on hand in case you need to repeat this. Windows and NV have gotten sneaky at installing things even when you've told them not to. If it doesn't work then it might be related to the PSU/MOBO combo I hinted at above.
