I went to a PC shop and they had dell optiplex 790 with i5-2400, 8gb DDR3 RAM, 120 GB SSD, and a 350W PSU that came the prebuilt PC.

I want to install an EVGA GTX 1060 3GB SC into the pc. I plan on using the molex pins to power the card through a molex-to-6pin cord which was provided with the GPU.

Should I carry on with the plan or buy a new higher watt PSU because these built-in PSU are gold rated and power calculator shows that the system will require 285 watts max. The stock PSU is rated output 305 watts, the dealer has also agreed to change the stock PSU with another 350 watt PSU from another prebuilt pc.

Any advice or opinion is highly appreciated and welcomed.

^ no , that's absolutely a sub 280w combination of part even at full tilt with everything stressed

That said I would still not be happy with a 350w generic PSU full stop.
If it were a seasonic maybe.
Your calculator is very VERY optimistic since i just checked two different ones and came up with 377W and 384W respectively assuming you have the proper number of fans and attach things like a monitor keyboard and mouse. I would go get a reasonably priced 500W and replace it. way safer than breaking the whole system or starting a fire
