**ADMINS/MODS - I apologize, I have no idea which category this should go under, can you help me out here?? **
Good morning/afternoon/evening Reddit techies!
Two days ago I was enjoying a game of Counter-Strike when out of nowhere my mouse suddenly became entirely unresponsive (no movement, no clicks registering, nothing) for about a second - which if you've played a first person shooter seems like an eternity! I finished out the final 10 minutes or so left in the match (even with my problems, I couldn't let my e-brothers in arms hanging) with it happening maybe two more times, exactly the same as the first time. After the game I went straight to Google to try and figure out what exactly was going on. After a few pages of searching (with the mouse becoming unresponsive/losing power a few times while doing so) I didn't come up with much so I began my own attempts to fix it. Another thing of note, sometimes when it becomes unresponsive, it lasts longer than others - when this happens I unplug it/plug it back into a different port it begins working immediately (never has it not worked, if only for a few moments) whereas if I plug it back into the same port it sometimes does not. It seems to happen far more often when using either of my USB 3.0 ports and the "freeze" up seems to last longer. Onto what I've tried:

1.Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for the mouse
2.Updated motherboard USB drivers, went on to update all mobo drivers I could
3.Ensured my Windows USB selective suspend setting was disabled in power options
4.Tried my mouse on my laptop (although not on a game) - It worked fine the entire time I used it (even w/o the SteelSeries drivers)
5.Posting to the Reddit Tech Gods. (this is where we are)

My computer specs:
*Windows 10,
*ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
*AMD FX-8150 Eight Core @ 3.6 GHz
*EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SSC
*G.SKILL Ripjaw 8GB (2x4GB)
*Thermaltake 750W PSU
*500 GB HDD
*Logitech K120 USB Keyboard (No issues whatsoever)
*And finally, the culprit, a SteelSeries Sensei [RAW] mouse

Solution
How long have you had the mouse? Maybe there is a short in the mouse... If you play FPS games and stuff and maybe would have at one point in time slammed the mouse or something, it could have damaged something somewhere and eventually it became an issue. The only issue I ever had with my SteelSeries products were shorts, so I wouldn't be to surprised with that. However, you said it didn't bug out when used on the laptop? This makes me want to believe that either the case wires (connecting to the mobo) are maybe dying/frying, or the USBs on the case are dying? Can you verify if you get issues just only using the case USBs or have you tried using the Motherboard USBs.

She's knocking on 5 years but I'd have never thought my USB devices would start to fail before my graphics card/CPU. Is this a common thing? Thank you for your timely reply!

They sure are. I actually went ahead and uninstalled/reinstalled them with no results. I consider myself a pretty competent PC user and I am at a total and complete loss here!

So some more info here guys::

I performed a system restore back to about ten days ago (no noticeable difference).

I have still YET to have a malfunction while not in Counter-Strike.

When it does malfuntion in Counter-Strike the lights on the mouse all go off like it totally lost power.

Like I said, probably an issue with a disconnect somewhere in the wires somewhere.
