Hello folks, I wanted to build a new gaming rig, probably under 1k$, i have a Evo 212 cooler and a 256gb SSD by my side, so that should a bit lower the price since i do not need to buy them. I am not looking for a fancy looking case, i want the best bang for the buck. There is so much new stuff out and the prices changed so much i do not know any more whats good and whats not. My old rig is ( 970gtx MSI, h97 gaming 3 motherboard, vengeance 8gb dd3 1600, i5 4590, 550w Corsair 80plus gold power supply, and some other stuff i am looking forward to selling it for about 650-700eu i do not know if that is a fair price, i do live in Lithuania and our prices are a bit higher then what you used to, so if i could get a comment on that as well would be good.

Basically i am looking for a gaming rig under 1k$, i mostly play CSGO, Rust, PUBG, (FPS games that mostly require CPU power). I wanted to try out AMD tech but do not know if thats a good idea, or i should just stick to intel like i did my whole life.

Different opinions on CPU's, GPU's would be great, and maybe some numbers of FPS in certain games with certain setups would be good, if any of you commentating are playing same games as i mentioned.

just get a used i7 4790 in terms of bang in the buck, this is way cheaper than getting a whole new rig just bcz the CPU is struggling

if u still insistent on changing the whole rig...
to be honest? ur PC can still hold out just fine
970 can still handle those games though your settings might be limited by the amount of VRAM u have
CPU overall still strong enough to support the GTX 970 so i suggest u stick with it at least till next year when Nvidia released Volta

Ye my pc is not that bad atm, but i wont be able to sell it for a normal price after a year, if i could sell it lets say for 500eu i would do that right away and upgrade to another 1k$ PC :)

CPU is starting to struggle with those games by the way, i get FPS dips.

if u still insistent on changing the whole rig though, here's what i can suggest
Ryzen 5 1600 / R7 1700 (they come with a stock cooler, if u don't need them, u can get the X version for the sake of no cooler + auto OC feature)
a B350 mobo
GTX 1070 if the price permits (mining craze made it overpriced, u have to wait if u want to buy it)
16 GB of RAM with high speed (DDR4-3000 at least) so your ryzen will perform better
a HDD (coz a SSD that size won't be enough for your gaming needs, especially with the new AAA games taking a lot of space like GTA / Witcher [in case u gonna play them later]
a good PSU, like the one u had in your old PC is fine too, 550w is enough for this rig
