Unfortunately my local seller ran out 4790k in stock so I have to buy new one, my options are: 6700k or 7700k, stock fan cooling will be enough for these? my friend told me water cooling is a "must" for these CPUs, however I'm in no position buy a water cooler nor cleaning up it every month, I will be playing modern games and doing some video editing via windows movie maker (720p 30fps) do temperature will rise up to 75c-80c like 4790k? Intel forums told me 4790k have a ability to reach higher temps in seconds even with good coolers, some info about these processors would be good for me to learn (I take it both are 4 cores?)

I will be limiting my cpu power at windows power settings to reduce overheat just like I'm doing it right now with my 4790k, 6700k 7700k powerful than 4790k yes? its very expensive in my location and my motherboard does not support AMD ryzen as far as I know (asus z97 pro gamer)

thanks in advance

Solution
Your motherboard doesn't support a 6700k nor a 7700k nor any Intel CPUs starting with 6xxx or 7xxx
Furthermore they need DDR4 RAM to work, regular DDR3 isn't supported.

As for aircooling, works just fine for my 6700k since over a year (using a Scythe Mugen)
