Hello

I bought all the components for my new PC, it's my first build I've done myself and tried to do some research before I built and purchased my system.

Current hardware

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI Socket LGA 1151

CPU : Intel Core I7-7700K 4.20 GHz Socket 1151

CPU Cooler : BeQuiet Pure Rock Quiet

RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz

Graphics Card : Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC 4GB

Power Supply : Corsair CSM 550W Semi Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply

Case (Not relevant but here) : NZXT S340 Elite White Gaming Case

SSD : Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5inch SSD

From what I have seen all components are compatable with eachother

When trying to boot up all case fans and graphics card fans work and the LED's on the motherboard light up correctly but I get no display from the HDMI port from the graphics card or from the default HDMI port. I have tried using a VGA cable as well and had no luck. Also the graphics card turns off after about 5 seconds off me turning the system on. I have the power connector plugged in correctly to the graphics card as well. I've tried different slots for the RAM and that hasn't work either

I've researched online about my problem and tried everything.

Will really appreciate some help and be happy to reward whoever helps solve this.

Thank you
Jack

You didnt research hard enough, it doesnt boot, it just powers on and thats it, the reason for it is your CPU is incompatible with that motherboard, it needs a bios update to support that CPU.

You choices are, return the motherboard and get a Z270 instead, or get your hands on a Sky Lake CPU, then you can update the bios yourself, then swap the CPUs over, or you can pay a local PC repair shop to update it for you.

Z170 motherboards are for existing Sky Lake users who want to upgrade to Kaby Lake etc later on, if you are jumping straight on Kaby Lake, you need Z270, B250 or H270 motherboard.

Did you send the old one back ? refund etc ?

You could of just purchased a very cheap CPU, something like a Sky Lake celeron for 30-40 and updated the bios.
