New build - ethernet doesnt have valid ip config

I've updated drivers, flashed bios, disconnected and connected router, tried command prompt and using auto servers/ static. everything I'v found on forums and help sites ive tried.

ip technician was here today and said problem is on my end. His laptop functioned well with ethernet. My laptop works with the wifi.

Are there other solutions?

Ok. What about NIC drivers? If you look in device manager are you seeing any drivers with an ! on it?

Maybe the drivers installed were for the WLAN and not just the LAN?

Firstly. Check the physical cable, swap the cable out for another one. If that doesn't work, check where it is plugged into (a small switch?) if so try another port on the switch, try to reboot the switch, etc...

That aside, you can also look in your network adaptor settings. See if a static IP or DNS is configured, remove it and allow DHCP to automatically give you that information on the adaptor.

Next would be to troubleshoot the physical device. When did it work last? Was there a PC issue around the time this started? Or a storm that could have fried the ethernet port on the laptop? etc...

Spanish, but the important bits are easy to find. Running on the wifi card but want to get the ethernet established.

Thanks for responding. The physical stuff I checked today when a tech from my ip came to check on it. We swapped cables and checked the router. This is a brand new pc so no damage or shorts to damage router or system.

Sorry for delay. I needed to get some work done rather than de-bug. But, using wireless I updated the driver from the web and it connected to ethernet after restart. Thanks for you time and help. This is a good site.
