I am currently very close to pulling the trigger on buying my parts for a new rig.
I'm on the fence about the corsair 400c. I want a computer that isn't too loud, because I'll have it in a dorm with a roommate. I'm considering a be quiet pro 900 as well, but I like the 400C because it is small and I will use the extra 100 dollars for RGB fans and such.
If someone who has a 400c or who knows could tell me how the sound is, I'd be very appreciative.

This should help you out a little on noise:

44db on an overclocked system isn't horrible by any means. I'd say that's fairly average, you'll probably be able to hear it a bit, not too much though. That's providing you're running a overclocked system like that one. If not, it'll probably be a little more quiet than that.

I should also note that they have a corsair 400q model specifically to deal with noise. Q for quiet. It uses sound dampening material to lower the noise levels. That's if you're willing to give up your side panel window.

Here's a link to that just in case:

I have 6 120mm fans in the system running full blast all the time. It is not as loud as a more "open" system. It stays very cool. It is nice and compact, and I plan on bringing it to school. What you should do, if you are willing to sacrifice LED, is buy the 400Q. It is the "quiet" edition of that same case, same specs, but it has added noise reduction and no side window. I've heard it is very quiet, and identical in cooling performance. They added sound reduction material to most parts of the case to silence it.
