How do i know what DDR to buy

I would like to extend my ram but im not sure what to buy. This is the pc i have

CPU and Memory:

AMD quad core.
Ryzen 5 1400.
Processor speed 3.2GHz.
8GB RAM.
Hard drive:

2TB HDD storage.
DVD optical drives:

Dual layer.
Graphics:

Dedicated graphics.
NVIDIA GTX 10 series gtx 1060 with 6000MB memory.
Interfaces and connectivity:

4 x USB 2.0 ports.
6 x USB 3.0 ports.
Ethernet port.
2 HDMI ports.
Wireless/Wi-Fi enabled.
Operating system and software:

Microsoft Windows 10.
General features:
Size H43, W18.5, D42.5cm.
Weight 10.5kg.

Go to your motherboard manufacturers website and look at the compatibility lists...make your buying decision based on what the list tells you is compatible.

For this build you'll need DDR4. Make sure you get the same ram as you already have or else it may not work properly together. Also if possible get fast ram (3000mhz +) because ryzen benefits from fast ram
