Looking to upgrade to be able to play games in at least 1080p smoothly maxed out for the most part. I have just built a pc with gigabyte 990fx motherboard, amd fx 9370, 8gb ram, and my old 2gb oc r7 360, power supply is EVGA 500b 500w.
Thanks in advance guys.

Well, the 9370 is fine and can stay for the next year or two at least (I have a 9590 and I can personally say they are great). The main issues here are the psu and the gpu. That 500b shouldn't be anywhere near the 9370. It is an entry level psu. I'd switch the psu to something like this:

Corsair RM650x

As for the graphics card, I'd go for a 1050ti or a gtx 1060. The 1050ti will almost max out fx cpu's, and the gtx 1060 maxes it out fully.

I'll give you those two options below (A model of each):

GTX 1050ti Zotac Mini

GTX 1060 6gb Gigabyte Windforce OC...

Everything else should be fine. What gigabyte 990fx motherboard are you using? There is one revision of the ud3 (Rev 3 or 4 I think) which has horrible vrms. As long as you don't have that one, you should be good to go. Make sure you also have adequate cooling.
