I'm on Windows 10 and just did a factory reset because some registry files were corrupted. Computer now boots up fine, but doesn't recognize my adapter as an adapter. When I look under device manager it's under the "other devices" category on my computer. When I plug the same adapter into a different computer, it does recognize it as an adapter. I have confirmed that the USB port works and I'm currently at an end. I am using a TL-WN722N TP Link Adapter. I'm unable to install the drivers as they say that the specific adapter isn't plugged in. Any help would be appreciated.

Is your TL-WN722N a V1 or V2 model? TP-Link has no Windows 10 drivers and the V2 should plug and play but V1 is listed as incompatible.

You can get the V2 driver from HERE if you have the V2 adapter and it will not auto install itself.

If you have the V1 version, then I would try a compatibility mode install of the last V1 driver from HERE. Simply download the driver and right click the driver installation file and select the properties/compatibility tab choosing Windows 8 or 8.1.
