Earlier today I was having issues with a corrupt display driver, which was causing a BSOD every 5-10 minutes. The error was caused by the "atikmdag.sys" file. I looked up a solution and it told me to copy "atikmdag.sy_" into a new folder and then run the command
"expand.exe atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys" on cmd (after changing to the correct directory of course).
So far this command has stopped the BSOD's from occurring outside of gaming. I can browse the internet just fine so far, and videos seem to work fine as well. However, if I attempt to run Skyrim Special Edition, the launcher will open and then after I hit play, it closes and then does nothing. SkyrimSE.exe runs in task manager, but shortly after just ends up crashing. I then tried running DayZ Standalone, which caused the BSOD error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" to come up.
Here are my specs:
MOBO: MSI 970A SLI Krait Edition (MS-7693)
CPU: AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core
RAM: 8GBx2 DDR3 SDRAM PC3-17057
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280X
PSU: Cooler Master G750M
SSD: Samsung SSD EVO 120G SATA Disk Device (C:)
Any advice is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

*EDIT*
I noticed that in the device manager my display adapter is now called "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" rather than "Radeon R9 200 series" or something of that sort. This was definitely caused by the atikmdag.sys fix I mentioned earlier. Also, if I go into properties, the device status reads "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

Solution
Usually that error is related to either faulty Video Card or Corrupted Driver, Try DDU http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html first, for a complete uninstall of your video driver and then reinstall AMD graphics driver with the lastest driver version. If i remember well I had a similar problem and maybe even the same BSOD problem, but in my case the fix was cleaning my RAM sticks with an eraser and also cleaning the RAM stick slots with a clean brush, after that never had a bsod problem ever since... could you please try that if you didn't
