i5 - 3570k (is it time to upgrade?)

Currently own a i5-3570k on water. Currently have a HoF 780. If I bump up to a GTX 1070 will I need to upgrade my CPU for it be worth my time?

Depends on your monitor. If you have a 60Hz monitor there is no need to upgrade. If you have anything better, 100Hz - 144Hz, you may experience performance issues in some games with the GTX 1070. Even with a GTX 1060, an i5 system at high FPS will limit the performance and cause the GPU to under-perform (in many games).
