Hello guys, i read that the stock ryzen 5 1600 cooler comes with thermal paste on it, would you suggest me to remove it and go with another aftermarket thermal paste or the stock one will do the job? I am thinking of a safe o/c at about 3,5-3,8 tops, I see in YouTube that wraith spire is good enough for those clockings. Thank you in advance.

The paste will be pre applied to the cooler with a air seal cover (in some cases). As Ryzen is new to market you can directly apply the cooler to the processor however be sure to check if its properly protected against air with no damage to air seal

I suggest to check the manufacture date first .If the dates are above a year i suggest to look into the paste to see if its properly protected against air lock,If it is then apply it directly to cpu else remove the old one completely and use a new one

If you are not overclocking, the standard paste and cooler are fine, and you are covered under warranty if anything goes wrong.

You should be fine with the preapplied paste. Aftermarket thermal pastes compared to one another generally differ by only 1-3c, there's not a huge gain to be had. It's good to have some on hand if you remove the cooler for whatever reason and want to reapply thermal compound, you can't really reuse thermal paste once it's been applied. A fresh clean application should be made when reattaching the cooler. Most aftermarket coolers come with thermal paste, either already applied or in a small tube to be used. You're probably not going to see 10c or better temp improvements by scraping off the included compound and replacing it with your own.

So if I am right, I' ll just check the date of the stock paste and ensure that it is in a good condition, of yes, I'll just apply the cooler, otherwise I'll clean the old one and I'll apply the new aftermarket, I just hope my new cpu won't have a thermal paste out of date
