Hey guys, a couple of years ago I bought my current monitor, an Asus VS248 (possibly with some other letters after that)

The primary reason I chose that model was for the fast response time, since I was an avid gamer back then. I immediately experienced headache and eye strain but I thought it was normal due to the fact that I had been using an 17'' monitor before that. I gradually got used to it and also by reducing the amount of games I played but recently I've been experiencing the same issues and I was wondering if a change in monitor would help. Currently I've set my mind on this model because of its advertised eye care features:

First of all would you recommend an IPS panel? Is it easier on the eyes than a TN? I don't plan on (much) gaming from now on, I'll use my monitor mainly for browsing, some work and possibly wathcing videos.

Also I noticed that my screen flickers on lower brightness (conducting the camera test) and that could contribute to eye strain. The VC239H-W is advertised as flicker free, can anyone confirm that's the case? The same question applies for the light reduction.

Finally, you're free to suggest other monitors at a similar price range. Thanks in advance.

Easier on eye? Flickers? This has nothing to for being TN or IPS.
This is about the backlighting technology used.
If you buy a monitor with PWM backlighting, you will see flickers and your eyes will get stressed faster.
Next time, buy monitors with non-flicker/non-PWM/flicker-free backlighting.
VC239H should have this flicker-free technology.

Blue-light reduction is also something else. Blue-light was believed to cause strain on eyes and could cause sleeping disorder. This is not about the flickers you see/saw.
Personally, I do not really believe this but I would definitely look for monitors with this blue-light filter.
