GTX 670 won't boot - strange mix of symptoms.

Hi all,

I have a GTX 670 that, when I install with a fresh install of windows, works with the default windows display adapter.

When I install the NVIDIA drivers, weird stuff happens depending on the install method:

When installing via GeForce Experience, the PC terminates and reboots mid way through the install.

When I installed the drivers manually through Safe Mode, the device switches to GTX 670 in the device manager rather than the standard windows display adapter. However, when I reboot into standard windows, the screen goes black after the windows logo disappears, then after a short while the PC reboots.

Whilst I feel this is driver related, I have tried installing/ downgrading via the Device Manager utility. I have tried removing the card, disabling intel graphics, and then rebooting with the card in again; same problem.

I am running the display on a TV via HDMI from the card.

I'm honestly fully stuck for what to do next, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Being in safe mode or using generic windows drivers on the card does nothing for the card, as soon as you install drivers so windows knows how to use the card the card fails, also know as a bad card.

Just tried updating drivers via Windows Update. Got the same result. What makes you say bad GPU? This is a new build (from used parts that a friend had laying around).
