Recently, my PSU just burned out and my computer crashed (while I was editing in Photoshop, of course, so a few hours of work wasted there). I replaced it with a similar PSU, not the same brand but same wattage, and the computer is running fine again.
However, while my computer was tremendously silent before, no matter the workload, now the fans on my GPU will rev up a few minutes into launching a videogame, generating a frustrating amount of noise. This continues ceaselessly, even after exiting the game. The only thing that will calm the fans on the GPU is to restart the PC. With my previous PSU, the GPU fans would never make noise, so much so that I basically could not tell if the PC was on or off by sound alone.
I realize that this is how fans work; they spin faster to counteract heat generated by workload.
But how can changing the PSU mean going from a wonderfully silent GPU to an annoyingly noisy one, regardless of workload?
I tried cleaning the hardware and casing meticulously (because replacing the PSU could have knocked dust around, I guess) but this did nothing. Literally nothing else has changed physically inside the case, except the new PSU.
What can I do?

Case: Cooler Master (with working case fan)
