I'm thinking of buying an SSD and transferring my flight simulator software to the new SSD. Will an SSD speed up my flight simulator experience, if my Windows 10 operating system remains on a traditional HDD? Or, to achieve faster speeds, must I also have my operating system on an SSD? Thank you very much.

SSD won't have impact on your FPS, many people get confused by this, A SSD will only affect the Loading Times on your Flight Simulator Experience, let's say the game takes 5 minutes to load when installed on HDD but on SSD it will take only 40 seconds (These are just examples and fictional numbers so you can understand better) now regarding FPS and performance improvement, you won't see any difference if your specs can't keep up with the game, like a good CPU and GPU to do the job for you don't rely on SSD for that. Now regarding Windows 10 then I would say yes.. install it on a SSD it will definetely gives you the best performance to navigate, copy / write / access files and will decrease your boot speed by seconds instead of minutes...
