Ethernet not identifying network

I just setup a new PC with Windows 8.1 Pro, I plugged the ethernet cable into the PC and it's not identifying the internet, it says unidentified network/limited, the ethernet cable does work with my laptop, not too sure what's going on.

Hi

Go into device manager and see if the network chipset driver is working or has an error message

Driver from motherboard manufacturer or if not available there from ethernet chipset manufacturers web site

If it is working come back for more advice
