I wanna be able to game at 1080p, 60 fps max settings and eventually upgrade to 4k gaming at standard settings. Please give me any advice as I'm completely new to all of this and a bit baffled.

This will make for a better motherboard and heatsink for overclocking. The PSU also has more room to handle a heavy GPU in the future while still allowing a CPU overclock.

If you want a cheaper heatsink look at a Cyrorig H7. It is better than the Hyper 212 Evo but not as good as the Scythe Mugen 5.

Hi mate thanks for the response, just wondering if it would be more beneficial to stick with the i5 over the ryzen if i was considering eventually upgrading to 4k or will i have to get an new cpu for that anyway? also just curious why you downgraded the psu. I got a bigger psu so i could overclock and also eventually plan on adding leds to in the case so should i still get the higher PSU? thanks again

The i5 has 4 cores and 4 threads. Some of the recent games are already struggling with 4 threads. BF1 lags immensely on an i5. The Ryzen chip has 6 cores and 12 threads, which is not only enough for now but for the future as well. Sure, the 7600k might give you a few FPS more due to Intels faster IPC, but its not going to last you as long as the R5. If the i5 gives you 122fps for 3yrs, the r5 will give you 102fps for 6yrs. Beyond 60odd fps, its not even visible to the naked eye unless you put a counter on the screen. Also with 4k resolution, Ryzen has proven to perform better over Intel due to higher core count.
If you check the top rigght hand corner of the pcpp page, the power requirement is around 300w. You still have a 150w headroom which is more than enough for overclocking and adding as much peripherals you want.
